MARKET INTERVENTION FOR NUTRITIONAL IMPROVEMENT (MINI) PROJECT

The MINI project is an international research programme co-funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Based around the 'Loop' aggregation scheme of the non-governmental organisation Digital Green, MINI aims to understand the opportunities, challenges and trade-offs of using aggregation to increase the availability and affordability of fruits and vegetables in markets that serve nutritionally-vulnerable consumers in Bihar, India and Jessore district, Bangladesh. Over the last nine months of the project, we will be conducting a number of rapid (and remote) data collections focused on the causes of food loss and waste along the horticultural value chain of Bihar, as well as the drivers of food safety across the horticultural marketing system of Jessore.
